Swiss pianist Sylviane Deferne completed her musical studies at the Geneva Conservatory of Music, where she was unanimously awarded first prize for virtuosity. After winning several international competitions, she performed with prestigious orchestras.
She is also a keen chamber musician, playing with her brilliant colleagues and musician friends on tour in Japan, Brazil, Italy and Switzerland, and making many wonderful musical encounters.
Sylviane Deferne has made numerous recordings for the following labels DECCA, Musica Viva, Riche Lieu et DORON music. A disc devoted to Franz Schubert has just been released by Aparté.
She passes on her passion in masterclasses and to her professional students at the Haute école de musique de Genève.
Sylviane Deferne has been artistic director of the Concerts d’Artémont since 2019. She brings her personal vision of sharing music with an ever-growing audience, building on the highlights of each season.
His next solo album, ‘Chants de l’Aube’, dedicated to Robert and Clara Schumann, will be released in 2024 by Aparté.
